Tell us about your current job role/employer and what you’re currently working on.

As a Financial Management Specialist at Aon, I gather healthcare claim data from insurance carriers and create periodical reports for corporate clients.

What was the most challenging aspect of your first “real world job” and what did you learn from it?

The most challenging aspect of my job is finding the most efficient style of communication across different types of clients. I learned that there is no single best way, and this seems to get easier with time.

What advice would you give to new Wake Forest graduates about developing their personal life habits after college (finances, health, values, work/life balance)?

Worry about balancing your life later on in your career. Life is a bit too short a journey to not grind before it is too late.

How have you made personal and professional relationships in your city, company, or community?

You have to make sincere and real relationships, not driven by solely transactional motives. When you meet with people with intention and really care about them, the connection is usually stronger and is more fruitful.

Have you been mentored by anyone at Wake Forest or in your professional life? If so, what impact has that relationship had on you?

I have been mentored by many individuals from Wake Forest’s Office of Personal & Career Development. Everyone in the office is willing to help and provide as much guidance they can. I have also connected with a handful of Wake Forest Alumni, who are almost always willing to help. I am lucky to attend a school with such a solid community.

What advice would you give to current Wake Forest students and/or young alumni who are about to start their first professional job?

Not everything in life happens according to plan. With that, there might be unexpected opportunities. Try not to make any assumptions before trying anything out. You will likely be more successful the more you try new things with an open mind.

What are your future career goals or plans? How are you being intentional about working towards them?

I would like to embody ‘Pro Humanitate’ and make a positive impact on humanity. To achieve this in the best way for me, I would like to focus in the areas in which I am interested, such as renewable energy or transport industry. I would like to continue being a lifelong learner and connecting with new individuals to grow myself and my career.
