Sam Chow (’08) | Senior Associate, Attorney | New York, NY

Hi there! I’m Sam Chow, an attorney based in New York City, currently working at a large corporate law firm specializing in immigration law. I help companies of all sizes navigate the complexities of immigration issues, from employee sponsorship to compliance challenges as well as building global mobility programs from the ground up. I graduated from Wake Forest University in 2008 with a major in Political Science and double minors in Economics and Chinese. After that, I moved back to New York to attend Cardozo Law School, where I earned my J.D. in 2011. During law school, I gained diverse experience interning at nonprofit organizations, federal and state agencies, and private in-house positions. After graduating, I started my legal career as an Attorney Advisor for the Immigration Court system with the U.S. Department of Justice before joining my current firm.

Looking back, immigration law was always where I was meant to end up, though it wasn’t always a straight path. There were many forks in the road that could have dramatically shifted my life and career, but I’m grateful for each step along the way.

I’d love to connect and hear about your career journey—whether you’re considering law, immigration, or exploring both public and private sectors. I’ve been fortunate to have had many mentors who have helped guide my career, and I know how valuable those relationships can be. Let’s chat! I’d be happy to offer any advice and get to know you better.
