Jana Fritz (’15) is a seasoned communications professional, with over a decade of experience in crafting compelling narratives for large-scale, complex organizations. She has honed her expertise in the theoretical and practical aspects of the field, graduating from Wake Forest with a degree in Communications, and minors in Entrepreneurship and Sociology. While an undergraduate at Wake, Jana was an involved campus community member, serving as a University Admissions tour guide, Student Union executive, and Alumni Engagement student caller.
Jana also proudly founded Wake NOW (Network of Women), the University’s first-ever women’s affinity group.
Her love for communications blossomed as a press assistant intern at the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. during the Obama administration. Upon graduating from Wake, Jana was the Presidential Fellow in the Office of Personal and Career Development, where she had the unique opportunity to work on the University’s billion dollar capital campaign.
After completing her fellowship, Jana moved to New York City and worked in communications at Columbia University. During her time there, she oversaw email marketing campaigns, created an elevated social media user experience, and wrote news and crisis communications.
Currently, Jana works in messaging and events at Salesforce, where she’s storytelling and driving impact through event content and keynotes.
Jana is a proud New Yorker who enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling to new cities around the world, and hiking in National Parks. She’s an advocate for women’s healthcare, climate action, and public libraries.
She’s open to discussing the communications profession, networking, career storytelling, and making the move to NYC.
