Been a while since you’ve updated your resume? Whether you’re planning to apply for jobs or simply need to update your document with recent accomplishments, our team has created a new quick guide to designing an awesome resume.

Here are a few high level tips to get you started:

  • Stop using colors, headshot photos, tables or separate text boxes, and graphics or icons.
  • Make sure your document is ATS-friendly (for Automated Tracking Systems).
  • Stick to just one page (if relevant or possible).
  • Tailor your document to include relevant content, key results, and skills.
  • Use resume scanning tools to compare how your document stacks up to a job description.

Once your resume has been updated, feel free to reach out to our team for a review by using the Ask a Career Question form here.

Please note that our team serves alumni who have graduated from a College of Arts & Sciences program. If you graduated with any degree from the Schools of Business, Law, or Medicine, or the School of Professional Studies, please reach out to your respective program for career support!
